AutomationDock not Linked to Database


Issue Description


For AutomationDock to be able to function to the full extent and potential it is recomended to have it linked to the database which is part of the installation pack. Sometimes, when Microsoft Office is automatically updated it happens that the database is unlinked from AutomationDock.


How do we know that the database has been unlinked:

  1. The process is unable to find global variables which it uses
  2. Users cannot find processes which they backed up in the past

Issue Solution


This issue requires the user to go to the Settings & Options menu and link AutomationDock with the database. Follow the steps below:


  1. Click Settings & Options in AutomationDock menu bar


  2. Select System database tab


  3. Click the three dots on the right side of the input box for the path


  4. Navigate to AutomationDock folder with the latest version AutomationDock and select *.adb file, click Open


  5. The path to the database appears in the input box, click the button underneath (with diskette) to save it. Now you can close the Settings & Options window.
